About

A Practical IT Notebook for Homelab, Infrastructure, and Sysadmin Work

This site is where I document hands-on technical work: what I build, what breaks, how I troubleshoot it, and what I learn from the process.

Why This Site Exists

Real Notes From Real Technical Work

I use this site as a working notebook for homelab infrastructure, systems administration, networking, Microsoft 365, reporting, monitoring, security hardening, and troubleshooting.

The goal is simple: write down the useful parts before they disappear into browser tabs, command history, old screenshots, or half-remembered fixes. Some posts are walkthroughs. Some are troubleshooting notes. Others are project writeups or lessons learned from testing, breaking, and rebuilding systems.

Focus

Built for Practical IT People

The writing here is meant for sysadmins, homelab builders, IT generalists, analysts, and technical people who want clear notes they can actually use.

  • Clear enough to follow later
  • Technical enough to be useful
  • Honest about what broke
  • Focused on repeatable lessons

Writing Style

How I Try to Document Things

I try to write technical notes in a way that is useful after the immediate problem is solved.

01

Context First

What I was trying to build, fix, test, or understand.

02

Environment

The systems, tools, services, and constraints involved.

03

What Changed

The configuration, commands, settings, or design decisions that mattered.

04

Lessons Learned

What worked, what failed, and what I would do differently next time.
